Aion a go

Post by Annadrea »

Well guys, I got the opportunity to jump into the Aion beta over this last weekend and I can definately say that I was very impressed. The gameplay is alot of fun, and the game itself is of a visual calibar as of yet unmatched in any mmo to date. As was mentioned in another thread, the crafting system is pretty extensive, and alot of fun to participate in, not to mention, you can do all of it to your hearts content if you so choose. (or rather your wallet chooses at least lol)

At any rate, I didn't get much opportunity to participate in the pvp aspects of the game, but what I read on the forums, and did happen to see in the game gave me alot of high hopes. The combat system, while not anything rediculously innovative, brings a very good old school feel to it if you catch what I mean :)

Just thought I would post some thoughts about it here and see if you guys would be interested in getting together for another DK rampage in some new lands. Miss you guys :)

Ok, I went exploring the site for the game today and I am in when the time comes... will have to start saving my pennies now.

Anyone heard from the officers lately... other than me & Adaar?

Also not sure about anyone else but I like the idea of playing the Asmodae rather than the Elysea. But I will go with the majority.

Oh, btw, I claim mage, not sure if I wanna do sorc or spiritmaster yet... leaning toward SM.

I might have to give this game a try. Conan is getting old (again) for me, and I can't imagine going back to WAR at the moment. I'm a little concerned, as usual, about getting burned, as the last four new MMOs I've played have been pretty disapointing. But I can see how this might work out. Be different, if nothing else.

I'll keep checking the forums once the game is released. Who knows, I might be there...

Hey all, how's it going? :D

I'll join Aion once the servers seem stable (days to couple weeks I imagine). I have no idea if I'll stay but I've read enough and heard enough from beta players that it will at least be fun to try out for a few months. Hopefully it is a winner.

Another game to checkout is Jumpgate Evolutions, a 3 way RvR space game. It might launch late this year.

I am also playing tiers 1-3 with a RL friend in WAR from time to time. Usually on Gorfang or Iron Rock as Ursin or Yursin (order). Sometimes I pop on PT destro and play a new shaman I made named Zabrok.

So here's to hoping Aion is a great RvR/PvP game. (if not, we'll need to find the next Holy Grail of MMOs ;) )

Threads to watch from WHA about server selection for the Phoenix Throne community for Aion:

http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums ... p?t=311595

http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums ... p?t=293119

There's also discussion on aionsource.com, and aionroleplayers.com of server selection. There are polls that have been posted/will be posted to designate "unofficial" RP and Oceanic servers.

There is a reason (that I don't fully understand yet) that they picked an East coast server instead of a west coast server. Apparently there are some sort of pvp "locks" that happen at certain times, and east coast was more amenable to west coasters that have day jobs.

I'll look into it and see if I can figure out what they're talking about. It looks like about 600-1000 PT people will be rolling there (both sides).

Well here's the link explaining why:

Whether it ultimately works out or not (or makes a difference), I have no idea. :)

And the Dredgion times:

Getting the message:
"New Players can not create characters on that server.
If you already have a character on that server, you may create additional of the same race."

I know what it means, but I dont know how to solve it. Any help will be welcomed.
